The garden was founded in 1820. Since then, plants belonging to 10,000 species have been gathered here. They are grouped according to their places of occurrence. In the garden there are greenhouses in which the conditions of the tropical forest and the desert have been recreated. There is also a rock and Mediterranean garden here.
