Old Town town hall

The former seat of the city council, now the City Museum of Braunschweig, is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The original town hall already existed in the 13th century - the current structure with 17 stone figures of rulers from the Ludolfing and Welf dynasties is the work of Hans Hesse the Younger from 1455-1468.
