Bad Doberan is a tourist town on the Baltic Sea, whose district is the resort of Heiligendamm, famous for its classical villas. The city has a Cistercian church in which the princes of Mecklenburg are buried.

The origins of the village are associated with the legend of Prince Henry Borwin I, who during the hunt promised to found a monastery in a place that will abound in game. Because the hunt was successful, the prince kept his word and in this way Cistercians came to Bad Doberan. Today, you can see the gothic basilica with valuable altars from around 1300 and the ruins of the monastery surrounding it.

Some historic tenements and houses have been preserved in a small town. One of them is the former Kornhaus granary. You can learn the history of Bad Doberan at the City Museum and the Bäder Museum.

Heiligendamm with beautiful sandy beaches is the most-visited part of the town by tourists. In the past, it was a resort of aristocracy, and the villas preserved to this day testify to the elegance of the district. The center of the village with the coast is connected by the historic Mecklenburg Molli Railway. At the seaside there are plenty of attractions for children, such as playgrounds, playgrounds, and the Bad Doberan Summer Toboggan Run.
