Kühlungsborn Pier

Local name: Seebrücke Kühlungsborn

The pier is 240 m long and is an extension of the longest Baltic promenade in Germany, stretching for 3.2 km. It goes directly into the Baltic Sea. At the entrance to the pier, there is a large square with the sculpture "Father and Son" by the German sculptor Reinhard Schmitt.

The first wooden pier was erected here as early as 1895. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was replaced by more solid and larger structures that better cope with ice drifting in winter. In 1929, a pier was built here, which survived until the end of 1941. The modern building was erected in 1991.
