Villarodin-Bourget is an alpine village and ski resort. Active tourism can be practiced all year round, which is facilitated by hiking trails and ski runs.
In the past, it was an agricultural and pastoral village in a mountain valley. Only the second half of the 20th century brought changes and the development of tourism. Despite this, Villarodin-Bourget has retained its intimate character, very much appreciated by tourists. There is a lot of old buildings here, you can see mountain shepherds' farms, and new hotels and guesthouses are well integrated into the landscape.
In winter, the highlight of Villarodin-Bourget is the La Norma ski resort, located on the slopes of the mountain of the same name. There are over 60 km of ski slopes, as well as a toboggan run and cross-country skiing trails. After skiing, you can spend time in the bars, fitness center or go on a snowmobile trip.
Summer in Villarodin-Bourget means hiking opportunities along numerous paths. Alpine views are available to both experienced and novice hikers thanks to trails of various difficulty levels.
