The La Meije glacier cable car is located in the Alps in the Écrins massif and leads from La Grave to the Col des Ruillans pass, 3200 m above sea level, where you can go for a walk on the glacier. A small path leading through the glacier has been prepared for visitors. Tourists who like adrenaline can go on a trip with a guide and visit the caves hollowed out in the glacier.
The cable car journey can be ended at the intermediate station, which is located 2400 m above sea level, and go hiking in the direction of Lake Puy Vachier, or visit the hostel Évariste Chancel.
La Meije is 3983 m above sea level and is the second largest mountain in the Écrins massif in the Dolphin Alps. Its three main peaks are: Grand Pic de la Meije, Doigt de Dieu and La Meije Orientale and are available only to mountaineers.
