Saint-Remèze is a small Provencal village known for its lavender cultivation. It is a good place for active tourism, and the area is famous for its beautiful views and caves.

The town has less than 500 inhabitants and has a very traditional stone architecture. It is centered around the church and consists of houses covered with orange tiles. On one of the farms on the outskirts of the village, there is the Lavender Museum, where you can learn about the traditions of the cultivation of this plant and its use. There is also a shop with cosmetics and other lavender products.

Saint-Remèze is mountainous and rocky. The foothills of the French Alps extend here. The most spectacular place is the Ardèche Gorges, the area of which is protected under the Gorges de l'Ardèche Nature Reserve. Several attractive hiking trails lead through the gorges.

The nearby karst caves are also eagerly visited by tourists. Two of the most beautiful of them are Cave Aven Marzal and Cave Madeleine, which are open to the public. In addition to the beautiful dripstone form, you can see the bones of fossil animals, as well as reconstructions showing the use of caves by local residents.
