Saint-Quentin marketplace is a typical Paris market where food products are sold. You can buy here typical French cheeses, wines, vegetables and fruits from under-grown crops, cold cuts, fresh meat, baguettes, seafood. The roofing stands out among other fairs in the French capital.
The first market was established here in 1835 according to the design of the architect Philippon. It was erected on the site of the former "Saint-Laurent Fair", which belonged to the house of Saint-Lazare. The market was named Saint-Laurent. It was a market hall measuring 44m x 14m, on its floor there were painting workshops.
The then hall was demolished in 1852 and replaced with the current hall slightly north of its predecessor. It was built of pink bricks and the roof is supported by green cast iron arcades. Saint-Quentin market square also has numerous restaurants with dishes from around the world, bars and cafes.
