Paris Floral Park

Local name: Parc Floral de Paris

Parc Floral is one of the four botanical gardens in Paris. It's in the woods of Vincennes. In addition to park plants, you can see medicinal and edible plants placed in pavilions and special discounts, a collection of azaleas, rhododendrons, dahlias and bonsai trees.

From the 12th century, the woods of Vincennes belonged to the king and were hunting grounds of the crown. Society was only opened to wider groups after the French Revolution. In Napoleonic times, soldiers trained here. This was also the purpose of the forest during subsequent conflicts, until World War II.

The plan to establish a botanical garden appeared after two world floristic exhibitions that took place in Vincennes in 1959 and 1964. Currently, the park has an area of 31 hectares. In addition to themed gardens dedicated to different types of vegetation and specific species, there are recreational areas, restaurants, an art gallery, a concert shell and sports fields.
