The park on the Castle Hill in Nice belongs to the most frequently visited places of rest and recreation in the city. Trees and shrubs with walking paths among them cover the hillside on which the history of the city began.
The hill on Nice was fortified in ancient times. Traces of Phoenician and Greek settlements were found here. In the Middle Ages a fortified castle stood here, which has not survived to our times.
The slopes of the Castle Hill are covered by a landscape park. It is mainly composed of Mediterranean vegetation. It is pleasant cold here in hot weather. In the park there are picnic areas, children's playgrounds, jogging and Nordic walking paths, as well as viewpoints that allow you to admire the panorama of Nice and the coast.
