The residence of the Counts and Dukes of Nevers, erected and rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries, is considered to be the first of the group of castles on the Loire. Currently, the Renaissance building is the seat of the municipal authorities, a wedding hall, a tourist information center and an exhibition devoted to the history of the city.
