Èze is a tourist destination on the Cote d'Azur and is divided into the seaside part of Èze-sur-Mer and the medieval hilltop town, Èze-Village. It has remained unchanged with narrow streets, arched passages and charming stone houses covered with tiles.
The town is sometimes called a living museum because in the medieval city you can hardly see the passage of time. There are shops, craft workshops, restaurants and guesthouses in historic stone houses. In turn, the lower part of the seaside is more focused on relaxation at the sea. The beaches of Eze are very narrow, and in some places relax directly on the coastal rocks.
The medieval city is picturesquely situated on the slopes and at the top of a coastal hill. From 400 meters high there are beautiful views of the coast. In turn, from the nearby vantage point you can admire the panorama of the area with the town's buildings.
Moving around requires good physical condition because the narrow, cobbled streets climb all the time. At the highest point of the city, in the former fortress, there is the Exotic Garden. Among the cacti, succulents and a lot of Mediterranean plants there is a viewpoint from which you can admire the panorama of the Riviera.
Among the compact and quite low-rise buildings of the town, the 17th-century Eze church stands out in the Baroque style. Another attraction of the village is the Perfumeria Galimard, which has been operating continuously since the 18th century, which can be visited with a guide.
