Troja Castle in Prague is a Baroque-style building. Inside the castle is preserved antique fresco decoration of the halls. The City Gallery now houses seasonal exhibitions. The castle is surrounded by a castle garden with fruit trees, a natural labyrinth, fountains, stucco and conservatory with the busts of the emperors.
The castle was built in the years 1679 - 1685 by Count Václav Wojciech Sternberg as his summer residence. The authors of the project were Giovanni Domenico Orsi and later Jean-Baptiste Mathey, the builder was Silvestro Carlone. Later the castle was bought by Prince Alfred Windischgrätz, who founded the vineyard here.
In the northern part of the park, the vineyards were run by the Sisters of the Poor. Today, this area is part of the Botanical Garden. The gardens of Troja Castle occupied a vast area. In this part of the area is also Zoological Garden. Between 1977 and 1989, the castle was rebuilt.
