The church Archangel Michael is a historic former church with architectural features derived from as many as four styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. The temple was adapted into a music club called Kostel, which in Czech means church.
The church Archangel Michael was built in the second half of the 12th century in the Romanesque style. In later centuries it underwent further reconstruction. First it was rebuilt in the Gothic style, then in the 14th century in the Renaissance style and in the middle of the 18th century in the Baroque style. Jan Hus preached here.
In the Middle Ages, the church of St. Archangel Michael was under the patronage of the Czech kings and was then a city parish. In 1786 the church was closed. Since then, he served various functions, including oil warehouse, paper factory. The National Library operated here. There is a music club Kostel here since 2011.
