Gardens founded by Francis I of Habsburg as a meeting place for people of high society and the cultivation of exotic plants imported from all over the world. They are currently one of the most popular green areas in Prague.
The extensive park is located on the slopes of Castle Hill and is cut into two parts by the so-called Jelenia Steam. Most gardens are designed in the Baroque style with even beds, lawns and cut shrubs, but there are also more natural, romantic corners. There are several pavilions in the park that were used in the past for recreation for the imperial family and their guests, and a presidential villa built by Edward Benes.Less
