The neo-Romanesque building was erected in 1908 in the vicinity of the Jewish cemetery. The building was used until the end of World War I, and from 1926 it became one of the locations of the Jewish Museum. Currently, there is a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of the Prague Funeral Society, founded in 1564 by Rabbi Eliezer Ashkenazi.
