Bethlehem Chapel

Local name: Betlémská kaple

A Gothic chapel founded by the townsman Jan of Muhlheim to celebrate services in Czech. The temple was entered on the list of national cultural monuments. Here they gave their famous sermons, including Jan Hus and Thomas Muntzer. The chapel and preacher's house have been made available to visitors, while the underground Lapidarium can be viewed only during organized exhibitions.

In the second half In the 18th century, the chapel was demolished by order of the Austrian authorities. Only three external walls were left, in which a tenement house was built several years later. Only in the second half In the 19th century, the tenement house was demolished and the chapel was rebuilt on the basis of old sketches and plans. Currently, the temple is the representative hall of the Czech Technical College in Prague.

Although the chapel can accommodate up to three thousand people, it never functioned as a parish church.
