Singing Fountain
Local name: Zpívající fontána
Singing Fountain is one of the newer attractions of Marianske Lazne. It was built in 1986 according to the idea of Pavel Mikšík. As you can guess, it serves as a backdrop for multimedia sound, water and light shows. The fountain is located in a circular pool with a diameter of 20 meters. It has water ejecting nozzles and special lighting, all of course computer controlled. At every odd hour, the fountain plays, and the water "dances" to the rhythm of the music. Evening shows are also combined with light illumination.
The Singing Fountain is located near the Main Colonnade. The attraction is extremely popular and is often used as the backdrop for many events or performances by local artists. Marianske Lazne has always attracted artistic souls and important personalities. In this popular spa visited, among others. Franz Kafka, Wolfgang Goethe, Nikołaj Gogol and Fryderyk Chopin, whose works resound here throughout August during the Chopin Festival.
