Pumphouse of Glauber Springs
Local name: Dvorana Glauberových pramenů
The Glauber Spring Pump Room is a neoclassical spa building. The rectangular structure with bent corners and columnar portico hides several mineral springs, mainly named after Glauber. These are brine waters at a temperature of about 11-12 degrees Celsius.
The pump room was built in 1930 for protection and made available to the salt springs discovered in the 1920s. It was designed by Ernst Engelhardt, while the sculptural decoration was made by Adolf Mayerl, who also worked on other buildings in the Františkovy Lazne.
It is a neoclassical building painted yellow. Above the roof there is a stretched, elliptical dome. The interior is decorated in pink and white colors. There are spa-themed frescoes on the walls. Sources are surrounded by colonnades.
