The Szpilberk Castle in Brno invites guests to the museum, where they will be able to see the castle casemates, a historic baroque pharmacy and a chapel. Another attraction is the lapidarium, which collects works of stonemasonry from local artists.
Permanent exhibitions include: "From the Renaissance to modern art", "From modernism to the present", "Brno on Szpilberk", "Szpilberk - from castle to fortress" and "Szpilberk - prison of nations". An interesting part of the exhibition is a section showing the history of the manufacture of fireworks. Guests can also use the lookout tower.
The castle was built in the 13th century during its turbulent history, it was not only the seat of magnates, but for many years also served as a prison. Today, the renovated facade encourages to visit, while inside you can see the castle chambers.
