Tourists during a short trip can admire the city's monuments, including historic Romanesque tower - Kula Lotrščak, the only element of Zagreb's fortifications that has survived to this day.
Zagrebačka uspinjača was founded at the end of the 19th century, earlier than the city horse tram. Initially, it was powered by steam, only in the 1930s the electric composition appeared.
During World War II, the funicular route was almost completely destroyed, it was only re-launched in 1974. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions of Zagreb.
