The church Maria na Dolcu (Sveta Marija na Dolcu) is a historic building famous for its valuable religious monuments, you can see here the 18th-century marble main altar decorated with sculptures depicting St. Piotr and Paweł and angels, as well as a fresco by Slovenian painters - Franco and Krištof Jelovški.
The author of all statues and carvings on the altars and the pulpit was the famous sculptor Franciszek Rottman from Ljubljana. Originally a Cistercian monastery was located here, at the beginning of the 16th century it was transformed into a parish church. Earlier, in the 13th century a small chapel stood here.
The temple has undergone many changes over the centuries, the first Gothic church with the tower was gradually expanded, already in the mid-eighteenth century masses were celebrated in a large three-nave building, with a beautiful entrance decorated with a baroque portal. The church was partially destroyed during an earthquake in 1880.
