Atelijer Meštrović in Zagreb is an art museum where you can see a permanent exhibition of the works of Ivan Meštrović - a famous Croatian sculptor and architect. The museum is based in the house where the artist lived and worked. You can admire original sculptures and bas-reliefs made of stone, wood, bronze and plaster. Sketches and graphics complete the collection.
Meštrović's house was designed by the architects Viktor Kovačić, Harold Bilinić and Drago Ibler. The residential part has remained unchanged to this day, so you can see the original interior. The dominant material is wood, a staircase and coffered ceilings have been made of it.
The artist's works have been displayed in all rooms, a collection of valuable sculptures is in the main hall. All phases of Meštrović's work are shown here, from his studies until his death.
