Matejuška is an old fishing port in Split, now a popular place for meetings, walks and spontaneous events. This place is especially popular with young people and tourists. Around the port there were many shops, gastronomic and entertainment facilities. In the port you can see numerous yachts, excursion and fishing boats. The wharf is also often visited by fishermen.
Matejuška has been a typical fishing port for hundreds of years. To this day, you can see not only modern yachts, but also old fishing boats with drying nets. Fishing enthusiasts can rent a boat with a crew and go fishing.
In the past, Matejuška was the seat of the Gusar rowing club - a world famous forging talent before World War II. The club building (currently does not exist) in the 1950s and 1960s was adapted for the needs of organization of dance events.
