Saint George, called in Croatian Sveti Juraj, meaning the church of St. George is one of the most representative monuments of the city of Primošten. Originally erected in the 15th century, it gained its present shape after a reconstruction which took place in the 18th century. The road to the church leads through marble stairs, which make it easier to overcome the hill.
Inside the church there are several valuable paintings, including the silver icon of the Virgin Mary and the eighteenth-century painting showing the Virgin Mary in the company of Saint. Łukasz and św. George. Church Hill is considered the best vantage point in the city.
Currently, the church has two altars - St. John of Trogir and the altar of Our Lady of Loreto. Originally there were five of them, including the oldest, dedicated to St. George, whose name was given to the temple. The historic altar was demolished in 1963.
