The museum is dedicated to the history of fashion and lace crafts. There is an extensive collection of lace, including both those produced in Brussels since the 12th century and those from all over the world. Thanks to exhibitions, you can trace various lace production schools in France, Italy and Flanders.
The museum also has exhibitions of historical and contemporary fashion. Regularly changed exhibitions are presented, among others historical wedding dresses, nineteenth-century crinolines and 1960s fashion. Interesting is the exhibition of clothes for Barbie dolls and the exhibition of raincoats.
The museum is housed in two 18th-century buildings. It was founded in the 1970s. In addition to exhibitions, it also organizes workshops and conferences on the textile and fashion industry.
