The building is part of the Royal Museum of Art and History. The exhibitions contain archaeological artefacts from the Merovingian era, as well as finds from Egypt and the Middle East. Interesting are Egyptian sarcophagi, floor mosaics from Apamea and a model of ancient Rome. You can also see a collection of pre-Columbian art and a colossal statue from Easter Island. The museum exhibits also include examples of European decorative art from Roman times to Art Deco.
The museum is located in the Cinquantenaire Park, which was created by order of King Leopold II Koburg. Then, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Kingdom of Belgium, a national exhibition was organized in the park, for which it was decided to erect two majestic pavilions connected by a semicircular colonnade and a triumphal arch. Unfortunately, they could not be completed before the solemn exhibition. It wasn't until 1910 that construction was finally completed. Currently, three neoclassical exhibition halls house three museums: the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History, the Automotive Museum and the Cinquantenaire Museum as part of the Royal Museum of Art and History.
