Built in 1882, the palm house located in the French gardens at the Schönbrunn Palace. It is one of the largest such buildings in Europe and consists of three connected glass and metal pavilions of Art Nouveau shape.
The pavilions correspond to the division of the greenhouse into three climate zones: polar, moderate and tropical. Each of them contains plants characteristic for a given zone and maintains the appropriate temperature in them. Currently, the palm house is open to the public also at night from the level of the gallery under the vault.Less
