Greek Orthodox Church Saint Trinity is an Orthodox church located in the historical Greek district of Vienna - Innere Stadt. The area is also known as "Fleischmarkt". The richly decorated sanctuary refers to the baroque church architecture typical of southern Germany and Austria. Attention is drawn to the two-colored wall and gold-plated arches.
Greek Orthodox churches existed near this place since 1787. The current church was built according to the design of Peter Mollner, and rebuilt by the Danish-Austrian neoclassical architect Theophil Hansen. The reconstruction was financed by Simon-Sinas, a diplomat and philanthropist of Austrian-Greek origin. Since 1963, the church has been the seat of the Greek Orthodox Austrian metropolis.
