Local name: Kisha Ortodokse e Shen Pavlit dhe Shen Astit Durres

Orthodox cathedral of St. Paweł and św. Astiusa is one of the most important monuments of the port city of Durres in western Albania. It was built on the initiative of Archbishop Anastasios to rebuild the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania. In 1994 the foundation stone was erected under the new church, at the beginning of 2002 the construction was completed and the first rites in the temple began. The ceremonial inauguration took place in 2009.

The church Paweł and św. Astius was placed opposite the place where the church of St. Spirydona, destroyed in 1967. The temple is a basilica crowned with a dome covered with white stone, surrounded by columnar vestibules. The roof of the cathedral uses red tiles typical of the Byzantine era. Inside, tourists can admire church bells, the episcopal throne, and a hand-carved iconostasis by the masters of Pogradec.

In the basement of the Orthodox church in Durres there is a meeting room, kitchen, library and classrooms. The temple is a cultural monument of the city, and its construction was an attempt to revive the Christian life in the village. Currently, the Church, which is a work of architectural art, is often visited by believers and tourists.
