Tomb of St. Peter

According to church tradition, the tomb of the first Christian pope is located under the main altar of the Basilica of Saint. Peter's in Rome. This belief was confirmed by the research of the remains found there, belonging to an older man who lived in the first century AD. During the works, numerous other burials, mainly pagan, were discovered that can now be seen in the basilica crypt.
