Chessington World of Adventures Resort
The Chessington World of Adventures Resort includes an amusement park, a zoo and a hotel complex. The theme park has ten themed sections, each representing a different region of the world and a different culture. There are, among others town in the wild west, orient or Transylvania. There are 30 roller coasters, a water slide on a boat and a dark ride. In turn, the zoo currently has about 1,000 species of animals, including tigers, gorillas, kangaroos and walruses.
The zoo was established in 1931, while the amusement park was opened in 1987 after the takeover of the facility by The Tussauds Group. It was then one of the first amusement parks in Great Britain. At that time, the building underwent extensive renovation and revitalization.
There are two hotels in the park: Safari Hotel and Azteca Hotel. At the entrance to the restaurant in the latter, a large water reservoir with red piranhas was placed.
