Kennington Park
Kennington Park was founded in the mid-nineteenth century. In its center is a children's playground and a historic building that houses a cafe. The park is friendly for people practicing sports. There are, among others football, hockey and cricket pitches, tennis courts, as well as bike paths and fitness equipment. At one of the entrances there is also one of the oldest skateparks in Great Britain.
In 2012, the Flower Garden was renewed, founded in 1931, and then gradually falling into ruin and oblivion. In the park you can meet the smallest of the species of bats living in Great Britain, the tiny karlik. Their colony lives in some of the powerful old trees growing in the park.
In the area where the park is located, public executions and speeches took place until 1800. Here spoke here John Wesley, an Anglican priest who reportedly gathered up to 30,000 listeners at one time. Currently, cultural events and lotteries are regularly organized here.
