Shuttleworth
The Shuttleworth Collection Museum is an aviation and automotive museum located on the Old Warden Aerodrome airstrip. Due to the variety of old and well-preserved aircraft, it is considered one of the most prestigious in the world. The collection also includes antique cars. The most interesting exhibits include five Edwardian aircraft, one of which is the oldest British aircraft still capable of flying.
The facility was founded in 1928 by aviator Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth. During a flight on the night of August 2, 1940, Shuttleworth died in a fatal accident. The museum puts emphasis on the restoration and preparation for the flight of as many planes as was the original intention of the founder. Usually there are about 12 air shows a year, including evening shows.
