Gornergrat railway
Local name: Gornergrat Bahn
The Matterhorn Gornergrat Bahn is a 144 km narrow-gauge railway connecting the most important towns in the Swiss cantons of Uri, Valais and Graubünden. It owns the Glacier Express, which tourists can use to travel between the towns of St. Moritz and Zermatt.
Glacier Express is called "the slowest train in the world" and it takes 8 hours. During the trip you can enjoy beautiful views of the Alpine peaks. The train passes almost 300 bridges and 90 tunnels. Its route intersects with the route of the historic Albula Railway, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
