Luegisland tower

Local name: Luegislandturm

Located inside: Museggmauer

The tower, which is part of the city's fortifications, was built after 1367. The building is the oldest known fragment of fortifications. It is worth paying attention to the unusual structure of the tower, which is open from the south to the old town of Lucerne. In 1874, a well was installed in the tower, and currently a high-pressure municipal water supply line operates under the construction.
