Spreuer bridge
Local name: Spreuerbrücke
The Reuss River Bridge was built in 1408. It is one of two preserved wooden crossings in the city. In 1566 it was destroyed by a flood, then rebuilt with a granary. The unique feature of the bridge are paintings placed in the pediment. In the case of the Spreuer bridge, these paintings form the Danse Macabre motif.
