Chapel of St. Otmara on the island Werd

The Franciscan monastery is located on the island of Werd, which is reached by a wooden footbridge about 200 meters long. The founding of the monastery dates back to the VII-VIII century, when Otmar, abbot from St. Gallen, was exiled to the island. Six religious brothers still live in the monastery. Part of the island, monastery and chapel are open to the public.
