The museum is the most important art institution in the canton. It is located in a historic villa and mainly exhibits works of art by local and national artists. Currently, it collects about 8,000 works from the 18th century to modern times. You can admire the works of artists such as Angelika Kauffmann, Giovanni Giacometti and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.
