Middle bridge

The bridge is the oldest crossing over the Rhine in Basel. The first bridge built in the first half of the 13th century survived until 1903, when it was replaced by a new connection. Nearby, a copy of the old bridge chapel, so-called "Käppelijoch", where criminals were sentenced to death in the Middle Ages.
