The Småland Museum, or the Swedish Glass Museum, is the oldest regional museum in Sweden. There are around 35,000 exhibits from over a hundred different glassworks (16th-21st century). You can also see antique tools used in the past for processing glass.
The exhibition also includes archival photos of old steel mills and valuable documents describing the entire production process. There is a souvenir shop in the museum, where you can buy not only glassware, but also products related to the region, incl. books and jewelry.
The first objects in the museum collection appeared at the end of the 18th century, but the museum gained its own place almost a century later. From the 1930s, the museum started promoting the glass industry. It has been operating as the Swedish Glass Museum since 1996.
