Tidö Castle is located approximately 10 km from the city of Västerås. Its oldest part is a building built on a square plan at the end of the 15th century. Currently, you can see its ruins adjacent to the main residence, dating from the first half of the 17th century. The castle can be visited in the summer season with a guide.
During the visit, it is worth paying special attention to the Knight's Hall, which has retained its original character. There are portraits of the founder of the castle, Count Axel Oxenstierny, and an antique fireplace. The sightseeing route also passes through a large gallery decorated in baroque style, an elegant 18th-century lounge and the Blue Dining Room, where you can see a portrait of the Swedish royal family from the 18th century.
The farm buildings house the Bicycle Museum, which houses one of the most important collections of bicycles in the country.
