Oskarshamn is a tourist town on the Baltic Sea and a good base for excursions to the Blå Jungfrun National Park. There is also the longest bench in Europe and several interesting museums.
The heart of Oskarshamn is the port, the traditions of which date back to the 17th century. In the 19th century a shipyard was established here, which is still in use today. There are many restaurants and bars around the marina. There is also a 72-meter Long Bench. It was built in 1867 and is now a popular viewpoint over the port and its surroundings.
From Oskarshamn Harbor, you can take a trip to Blå Jungfrun National Park. it is located on an uninhabited island made of granite rocks. The trails leading through the island lead to caves, viewpoints and rock outliers among low thickets and meadows overgrown with herbs.
A well-known attraction in Oskarshamn is the Döderhultar Museum. There are over 200 sculptures by Axwl Pettson. Right next to it, there is the Museum of Lodz and Machines with a collection of ship models, elements of their equipment and items related to sailing.
