Kivik is a tourist destination on the Baltic Sea, as well as an agricultural center known for its horticulture. In its vicinity is the Stenshuvud National Park covering a large part of the coast.
The vicinity of Kivik was already inhabited in the Bronze Age. On the outskirts of the village there is a burial mound of Kiviks, discovered in the 18th century. There are carved representations of human figures on the walls of the burial chambers. Currently, the mound is open to visitors. There are also Ängakåsen stone circles in the area. The town is currently mainly of a recreational nature. There are sandy beaches here, and the area is conducive to active tourism. The Stenshuvud National Park is a great place for hiking tours. It has moors and forests as well as hills from which you can enjoy pretty views of the coast. The Kivik marina offers space for tourist, sailing and motor boats for sea excursions in the area.
The main attraction of Kivik is the Esperöd Kiviks Arboretum, famous for its magnolias blooming in July. Thousands of trees from around the world have also been gathered here. Even mandarin trees grow here thanks to the mild climate in this part of Sweden.
