Blekinge Museum
Local name: Blekinge museum
The Blekinge Museum is housed in a historic palace in Karlskrona city center, adjacent to the cruise ship pier. The residence, formerly belonging to Admiral Hans Wachtmeister, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It mainly houses exhibitions depicting life in Blekinge in the 18th century.
Another exhibition is devoted to the work of Erik Höglund, an artist who creates paintings on canvas and paper, and works using metal, glass, wood, brick, granite and bronze. It is also worth paying attention to the exhibition presenting the history of local boatbuilding.
There is a picturesque baroque garden and a courtyard open to the public, where various cultural events, including concerts and performances, are regularly organized. There is a large themed playground waiting for children, where they can play in fishing huts, go on a cruise or fish.
