Rademachersmedjorna
Local name: Rademachersmedjorna
Rademachersmedjorna is one of the best-preserved 17th-century open-air museums in Eskilstuna. There are both original residential houses and remains of the first in Sweden so-called the forge manufactory, established in the 1950s.
During the visit, you can see the restored interior of the house and workshop to see the conditions under which the families of blacksmiths lived and worked 300 years ago. There are also exhibitions presenting original everyday objects, clothes, toys and tools.
A themed playground awaits children aged 3-10, introducing the realities of the life of children from the mid-19th century. During the game, you can try your hand at work in a forge, weigh the goods in the shop and check what the kitchen or laundry room at that time had.
