The palace dates back to the 15th century and is an excellent example of the Toledo mudejar style. It was commissioned by the first ruler of Fuensalida, Pedro López de Ayala. In the 6th century, the palace hosted the court of the Empress Elizabeth of Portugal, while works on the Alcazar were completed. Here, too, the empress died, and an interesting legend about Francisco de Borja revolves around her death.
