The church is located in the former Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz and was founded in the thirteenth century as a synagogue. It was not until after the revolt in 1391 that it was transformed into a Catholic temple. The historic church is currently the seat of the Rosary Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Snows.
