The Church of San José once served as a Mercedes monastery. Established in 1628-1636 under the supervision of the architects Diego Gómez and Fray Juan de Santa María and represents the Baroque style. Inside the temple there are many historic and contemporary works of sacred art, including "Santa Apolonia" by Francisco de Zurbarán and "San José" by Rafael Barbero.
