Ribadeo is a coastal town at the mouth of the River Eo to the sea. There are beautiful, although mostly wild, beaches here, and the surroundings are famous for picturesque landscapes.
City life is concentrated at the large port on the Eo. It is very close to the estuary of the river into the sea, but such a location makes the port very safe and not exposed to storms or violent winds. There is a marina for yachts and sailing boats and there are many restaurants and bars around.
The coast around Ribadero is full of coves and rocks. They create picturesque landscapes that can be admired while walking along numerous hiking routes. Small sandy beaches are hidden in the coves. Most of them are wild and have no back-up facilities. This makes it an ideal place for people looking for a quiet vacation away from the crowds. Las Catedrales Beach with monumental rock formations is considered to be the most beautiful.
